FAQ
- What is the pack all® TSA Cable Lock used for?
It is designed to secure suitcase zippers, carry-on luggage, checked baggage, backpacks, duffel bags, travel pouches, gym bags, and other zipper compartments during travel. - Is this lock TSA-approved?
It is TSA-recognized, meaning TSA agents can open it with a master key during security screening without cutting the cable. TSA handling practices may vary by airport, country, or agent. - Does it use a key?
No. It uses a resettable 3-dial combination, so you do not need to carry a separate key. - How many combinations does it have?
The 3-dial combination provides hundreds of possible number combinations, allowing you to set and reset your own code. - How do I set the combination?
Set the dials to the default code, press and hold the reset button with a pen tip or small tool, turn the dials to your new code, then release the reset button and test the lock before travel. - Can I reset the code later?
Yes. You can set a new combination by repeating the reset process, as long as you know the current working code. - What should I do if I forget my combination?
For security reasons, the lock cannot display or recover a forgotten code. Always test and record your new combination before travel. - What is the cable made from?
The lock uses a flexible steel cable designed to thread through zipper pulls, small lock holes, and multiple zipper tabs more easily than a rigid lock shackle. - Is the body durable?
Yes. The zinc alloy body is designed for regular travel use and can help withstand everyday handling during trips. - Can I use it for international travel?
Yes, but TSA access is mainly relevant to TSA screening in the United States. Security procedures vary by country, airport, and inspection agency, so external locks may be opened or removed when required.
Recommended Uses
- Checked Luggage:
Use it to secure zipper pulls on checked suitcases before airport drop-off. The TSA-recognized design allows TSA agents to open the lock with a master key during screening without cutting the cable, though handling may vary by airport. - Carry-On Travel:
Use it on carry-on suitcases, backpacks, and personal item bags when moving through airports, trains, buses, hotels, or crowded travel areas. It helps keep main compartments and zipper pockets closed. - Backpacks & Duffel Bags:
The flexible steel cable is useful for bags with smaller zipper holes, multiple zipper pulls, or soft-sided compartments. It can be easier to thread than a rigid shackle lock. - Hotel & Luggage Storage:
Use it when leaving bags in hotel rooms, luggage storage areas, hostels, rental homes, or shared spaces where you want basic zipper security. - Gym & Daily Use:
Use it on gym bags, work bags, school bags, lockers, or storage pouches when you want a compact combination lock without carrying a key. - Family Travel:
Use the 4-pack option to secure multiple suitcases, children’s bags, backpacks, or family travel bags with matching lock styles. This helps keep each bag secured during group travel. - Travel Pouches & Organizers:
Use it on compatible tech pouches, toiletry bags, zipper organizers, or document pouches when you want extra control over small travel essentials. - Airport Transfers & Baggage Claim:
Use it during layovers, shuttle rides, baggage claim, and hotel transfers when your luggage may be handled, moved, or stored with other bags.
